How Much Does It Really Cost to Hire a Business Coach?
Let’s talk money—specifically, what you’re really paying for when you hire a business coach.
This is something clients ask me all the time, and honestly, they should. If you’re investing your time, energy, and income into coaching, you deserve to know what’s behind the price tag.
So let’s break it down, without the fluff.
1. What drives coaching prices up?
When you’re looking at the higher end of the coaching industry, the investment usually reflects three things: experience, depth, and support.
You’re paying for someone who’s spent years refining their craft, learning what actually works, and guiding clients through real transformation—not just theory. You’re also paying for how much personal access you get. More time, more feedback, more one-on-one support? That’s naturally going to cost more.
And if the coach is blending strategy with mindset, personal growth, or any kind of healing work (like I do), that adds another layer of value that isn’t just about information—it’s about helping you actually shift into the business owner you want to be.
EXAMPLE:
A high-touch 1:1 coaching experience might range from $3,000 to $10,000+ for a few months, depending on the coach’s approach, access between sessions, and how personalized the experience is.
2. What drives costs down?
When coaching is more affordable, it usually means less personal time with the coach and a more generalized approach.
That could look like a group program, a self-paced course, or something that follows a specific structure without much customization. These can still be really helpful—especially if you’re just starting out or testing things—but they don’t offer the same level of deep, tailored support.
Less time, less personalization, less access = lower cost.
EXAMPLE:
• Self-paced online courses might range from $97 to $497.
• Group coaching programs often fall between $750 to $2,500, depending on the length, structure, and whether there’s any 1:1 support included.
3. What makes some coaching offers more expensive than others?
Some coaches offer more than just strategy—they’re helping you with how you think, how you show up, how you lead. That deeper work takes time, intention, and skill.
Also, think about what’s included: Are you getting direct access between calls? Personalized feedback on your messaging or offers? Energy or mindset support?
If so, you’re in a higher-touch container—and that level of support is going to cost more, because it’s designed to create deeper results.
EXAMPLE:
Premium hybrid programs that include 1:1 support, custom feedback, Voxer access, and energy/mindset work can range from $5,000 to $15,000+, especially if they span over several months or include retreats or intensives.
4. What makes some offers cheaper?
There are tons of lower-cost offers out there, and they’re usually focused on giving you information or a system to follow on your own. They might be more cookie-cutter or aimed at a larger audience, which makes them more scalable (and therefore cheaper to deliver).
Again, that doesn’t mean they’re bad—it just means you’re probably not getting deep coaching or personalized attention. If you’re in a phase where you’re still figuring out your niche or just need a place to start, these can work well.
EXAMPLE:
Workshops, mini-courses, and eBooks are usually in the $20–$200 range. They’re great for learning, but you’ll likely need further support to implement what you’ve learned effectively.
5. So where does PHNX fall—and why?
We’re not the cheapest. But we’re not at the top of the pricing ladder either. Our work sits in the middle-to-premium range, because it’s designed to meet you where you are and help you stretch into what’s next.
You’re not just getting a strategy—we’re working on how you think, how you lead, and how you grow in a way that actually feels like you. That kind of transformation doesn’t happen in a weekend course. It takes time, honesty, and support that’s aligned with your vision—not just a to-do list.
We price our work to reflect that. Not just the time we spend, but the energy and intention we bring into helping you build something real, sustainable, and deeply fulfilling.
Our Offerings:
• Self-guided resources or starter courses
• Group coaching programs with real-time support
• Premium 1:1 mentorship that’s highly personalized
We’ve intentionally designed our pricing so that there’s an aligned entry point for different stages of business—while still honoring the depth of work we do.
Bottom line?
Don’t just look at the numbers—look at the fit. The right coaching investment should feel like a stretch, but also like a yes. You should feel supported, challenged, and seen.
